Digital Marketing Intern

Job Description

We are seeking a Digital Marketing Intern to work with us. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in search engine optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing(SEM). The ideal candidate will assist in various aspects of SEO strategy, including keyword research, content optimization, and technical audits. This role provides a unique chance to contribute to impactful SEO initiatives in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do & Learn

  • Develop and implement SEO strategies aimed at improving organic search rankings and website traffic
  • Assist in conducting keyword research to identify high-value opportunities for organic growth
  • SEO Optimization for website content
  • Support the development and execution of on-page SEO strategies, including optimizing website content, meta tags, headings, and internal linking
  • Help perform technical SEO audits to identify and address issues affecting website performance and search rankings
  • Monitor and analyze SEO performance metrics using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Semrush, and other relevant platforms.
  • Contribute to the creation and optimization of SEO-focused content for blogs, landing pages, and other digital assets.
  • Assist in developing and executing SEO-focused social media marketing strategies for X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram businesses.
  • Stay updated on the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and industry best practices to ensure strategies remain effective and compliant.
  • Track and report on the performance of SEO campaigns and other digital marketing initiatives.
  • SEO copywriting for client websites and landing pages, (i.e. content planning, page titles, meta descriptions, etc), as well as ad copy.
  • Provide ongoing SEO support for a variety of client projects.
  • Understand and follow website ADA conformance best practices.
  • Edit basic web content within a CMS.
  • Gain a deep understanding of SEO, organic search, and paid.
  • Understand content development and implementation on client websites.
  • Optimize landing pages for conversion and performance improvement.
  • Provide support with weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Join client meetings to listen in and contribute where you can.

Experience

  • Rising juniors, seniors, graduate students or post-graduates who recently finished their degree in advertising, marketing, business administration, communications or related fields.
  • A digital enthusiast with a core foundation in digital marketing principles, and a keen interest in diving deep into paid ad campaigns, SEO, and copywriting.
  • Appreciation for UX and web content best practices.
  • Working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to communicate findings concisely and effectively.
  • A team player who is ready to contribute and learn
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and contribute.
  • Familiarity with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Yoast, SEMrush and/or Screaming Frog is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management using GitHub is a plus.
  • Familiarity with website editors and content management systems such as VS Code, WordPress, Squarespace, Shopify, etc. is a plus.
  • Strong copywriting skills are a plus.

Interview Process

  • Round 1: Video interview with our hiring manager to discuss your digital marketing and career interests.
  • Round 2: Take-home marketing exercise to apply your understanding and skillset
  • Round 3: Video interview with a member of our team to share your analysis and strategic approach.
  • Round 4: On-site interview with our company founder

  • $125 weekly stipend
  • 54 hours total for internship
  • Must enroll in college cooperative education course

  • 4 hour shift
